Porsche Design Celebrates VOGUE Fashion’s Night Out With Fashion Shows and A Fashion Menu

In collaboration with VOGUE magazine Porsche Design celebrates the after-hours shopping extravaganza Fashion’s Night Out – at Porsche Design stores from New York to Berlin, Beverly Hills to Sydney and New Delhi to Dusseldorf. Each store gets dressed into a special shopping and party location in order to match the third Fashion’s Night Out credo: “A Global Celebration of Fashion”.

An exclusive menu will be served to customers and guests of the Porsche Design store on Madison Avenue in New York (September, 8th). Top Chef’s Angelo Sosa welcomes the fashionistas and designed a special fashion menu which matches the city’s vibrant atmosphere and the styles on display. The hors d’oeuvre consists for example of a water melon gazpacho with sweet tomato jam and feta pearls as well as a pine nut and grape sandwich with blue cheese and micro celery.

At the Porsche Design store on Beverly Hills’ Rodeo Drive (September, 8th) invited VIP customers and special guests – amongst others actress and singer Kaley Cuoco – are welcome to a two hours private reception. Thereafter the store opens to celebrate with fashion enthusiasts the luxury brand’s extended fashion collection for men and women. Extravaganza shopping experiences are due in Berlin (September, 8th), Lisbon (September, 8th), Sydney (September, 8th), Dusseldorf (September, 9th) and New Delhi (September, 10th) also where Porsche Design welcomes customers and guests for drinks and hors d’oeuvre.

The highlight at every Porsche Design Fashion’s Night Out location is the orange Porsche Design P’1820 Scarf which is limited to 200 pieces all around the world. The silk scarf shows Ferdinand Alexander Porsche’s very first sketch of the so-called “exclusive spectacles” with its revolutionary lens replacement mechanism. The sunglasses and especially the sketch from 1977 have been Porsche Design’s first dedication to the world of fashion.

Porsche Design is a luxury brand with a particular focus on technically inspired products. The brand was founded in 1972 by Professor Ferdinand Alexander Porsche. The company’s products stand for functional, timeless and purist design, with convincing technical innovations. The product portfolio includes watches, sunglasses, luggage, electronic products, a men’s fragrance line as well as sports apparel and fashion collection. Fish Tacos Purportedly help Reduce Risk of Cataracts

Cataract surgery. No one wants it to appear in their crystal-ball reading. So here’s what you need to do to keep cataracts from clouding your future:

Switch the meat filling in that taco to fish. And serve it with salsa and a side of vinegar coleslaw. Research shows that limiting your intake of meat to no more than 12 ounces a week — and grabbing some more fish, vegetables, and fruit in the process — may help reduce the risk of cataracts.

Save Your Sight
In a study, researchers examined the link between dietary habits and cataract risk in older adults. The research showed that adults age 65 and over who ate the most meat (at least 24 ounces a week — think four large steaks) had the highest rate of cataracts, an eye condition in which opaque proteins build up on the lens and cloud vision. But those who limited their meat intake to half that — the equivalent of four small (3 ounce) servings a week — slashed their risk of cataracts by 15 percent. And people who not only limited meat but replaced it with fish, fruits, and veggies had the lowest cataract risk of all. (Related: Eat these seven foods for better eye health.)

There were some other dietary revelations in the study. For example, eating too much overall, getting too much cholesterol, or eating too much protein all seemed to be bad for cataract risk. On the other hand, vitamin A and vitamin B12 appeared to be helpful when it came to preventing cataracts. It’s not clear from the research whether diet directly affected cataract risk or whether people with good diets tended to have other healthy habits that helped protect eyes from the lens-clouding condition. Regardless, we do know that a diet low in meat and high in fruits and vegetables is a boon to health for many other reasons — from weight control to heart health. Other good ways to reduce cataract risk? Limit alcohol; cut down your exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation; keep your blood sugar under control, because diabetes raises cataract risk; and don’t smoke. Is it time for an eye exam? Find out when you should see the eye doc.
