While many of the veterans who lived during this terrible event have now passed on, we will never forget their honor. The horror of seeing this event unfold was forever etched into the minds of those who survived it, as well as those who were left behind to mourn those who didn’t survive.
The cliche reminds us that “freedom is not free.”
